THE POSITION

We are looking for a full-time Patient Service Representative to join our customer-focused, supportive team. Our Customer Service department is a fast-paced, high-energy environment and you'll find yourself challenged and required to use critical thinking every day. You will also be surrounded by a close-knit and supportive group who has the same dedication to serving medically fragile children and their families. Creates and confirms delivery tickets for Durable Medical Equipment (DME Creates IV Delivery Tickets (as applicable) Assists internal and external customers and staff through the Customer Service help desk, phone calls, email or face to face encounters Serves as the Patient Services Coordinator of the Day (COD) (as applicable) Maintains database of physician orders Performs call-outs Processes returned mail Processes 'to dos' Obtains patient supply orders via telephone, fax or helpdesk Obtains physician orders for products and services provided Obtains and assists with new patient referrals via telephone and completes the DME intake Updates patient account information on an ongoing basis, including patient change forms Addresses complaints concerning billing or service rendered, referring complaints of service failures to designated departments for investigation Coordinates courier service with appropriate staff for deliveries as needed Maintain compliance with HIPAA and PHS requirements regarding internal and external electronic medical record (EHR) access On-call duties/rotation may be required based on business need Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or 1-6 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Durable medical equipment (DME) intake/ admissions experience preferred Exceptionally organized, multi-tasking, problem solving and communication and strong keyboard skills. A high level of initiative combined with a customer service mentality is also required. Experience in Brightree EHR a plus!
