Activities include appointment confirmation and cancellation, data entry and verification, patient education, counseling, and advocacy, and marketing of CHC services. This position plays a key role in the coordination and delivery of quality customer service to CHC patients and their families. Primary Duties & Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities listed herein represent the Essential Functions this position regularly and customarily performs. As such, this list is not intended to be exhaustive, and additional job-related duties that are similar in nature or logical extensions of the Essential Functions may also be performed. 1. Schedules, reschedules or cancels appointments, while also verifying address, phone number and insurance information. 2. Takes and evaluates inbound calls. Daily inbound call goal is 100 for 100% FTE. Goal will be adjusted depending on employee schedule/FTE. 3. Performs data entry, including logging complaints and taking messages for physicians, MAs or other staff. 4. Transfers calls accordingly to Clinic Directors, MAs or other clinical staff. 5. Provides medical information from Provider, MA or staff in response to patient, either in English or Spanish, as appropriate. 6. Provides lab, imaging results or prescription information to patients or other medical providers. 7. Responsible for referral tracking coordination. 8. Completes weekly assignments such as backline hospital calls, patient portal and prenatal patient report tracking, as well as other duties as assigned. 9. Educates patients on Medicaid application process, discounts and other programs, such as
CHIP. 10.
Identifies in the system patients in particular categories, like obstetrical patients and new patients. 11. Facilitate patient flow with clinic Medicaid workers. 12. Markets CHC services and educates patients on available state and federal programs. 13. Communicates with providers and Clinic Directors regarding appropriate patient information. Qualifications & Education Requirements 1. Typing skills of 60+ wpm 2. Bilingual (Spanish and English, minimum) required 3. Minimum of 1 year telephonic customer service experience, preferably in a health care environment 4. Demonstrated ability to deal with diverse populations in a culturally sensitive manner 5. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills 6. Strong writing skills Preferred Qualifications 1. Health care experience preferred
Position Also Requires:
1. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer 2. Use of a phone headset or handset 3. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time 4. Typical setting is an office with moderate office noise level 5. Regular and reliable attendance
