Job Description

The Medical Office Scribe is responsible for enhancing the efficiency and productivity of providers by performing real-time documentation of patient encounters in the electronic health record (EHR). This role enables clinicians to focus on direct patient care by managing the documentation workflow, contributing to a better patient experience, reduced provider burnout, and improved clinical efficiency. This position directly supports Augusta Health's mission to improve the health and well-being of our community by ensuring that documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant, ultimately aiding in the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
Education, Licensure/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent required Certified Medical Scribe Specialist (CMSS), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or equivalent certification preferred
Experience:
1+ years of experience as a medical scribe or in a similar clinical documentation support role
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., Athena, Meditech) Excellent listening and communication skills Strong attention to detail, grammar, and spelling High level of professionalism and discretion with sensitive information Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment Commitment to team-based care and customer service excellence Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated
