Job Description
Newport News, Virginia Hiring Range $16.20 - $21.08/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs. Overview Responsible for registration of all patient types within their department. Works daily reports and account work queues to ensure the integrity of registration data. The Patient Access representative is responsible for the delivery of critical components of the Revenue Cycle; understanding regulatory compliance, maintaining patient safety through correct patient identification practices, and providing excellent customer service. What you will do Obtains or validates patient information and registers patients into the software system, while providing a high level of customer service. Ensures all necessary demographic and financial data are obtained and documented into the system. Maintains patient safety through the correct patient identification practices. Maintains strict confidentiality in all matters relating to patient PHI. Works daily reports and account work queues to ensure the integrity of the registration data. Handles patient inquires related to registration. Calculates payment information, accepts funds and credit accounts accordingly for Time of Service collections. Ensures EMTALA rules and regulations are strictly adhered to when registering patients through the ED and Obstetrics. Completes forms and collects documents as needed based on the registration type.
