We're seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in a unique and rewarding position that blends patient care in the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) with specialized support in the Emergency Department as a Sexual Assault Forensics/Nurse Examiner (SAFE/SANE) . When needed, you'll also support the Emergency Department by performingSAFE/SANE
examinations , providing expert clinical care, evidence collection, advocacy, and emotional support to survivors of sexual assault. This role is ideal for a nurse who combines strong clinical judgment with empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to trauma-informed care. What You'll Do Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care aligned with evidence-based practice standards Monitor patients in the Clinical Decision Unit and coordinate care plans PerformSAFE/SANE
examinations and advocate for sexual assault survivors Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record Collaborate with physicians, emergency department teams, law enforcement partners, and community resources as appropriate Delegate and coordinate care with other healthcare team members Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and professional development initiatives Foster a compassionate, patient- and family-centered care environment What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire Minimum of one year of recent acute care medical-surgical nursing experience Experience in telemetry, progressive care, or step-down nursing Experience caring for victims of sexual assault Experience performing Sexual Assault Forensic/Nurse Examinations (SAFE/SANE) Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Additional Certifications Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six months of hire NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification within six months of hire The Ideal Candidate You will thrive in this role if you are: Passionate about patient advocacy and trauma-informed care Skilled in building trust with patients during difficult circumstances Calm and confident in fast-paced clinical environments Committed to clinical excellence and evidence-based practice A strong communicator who collaborates effectively across disciplines Dedicated to creating a safe, supportive experience for patients and families Benefits That Support You At PeaceHealth, we believe caring for our patients begins with caring for our caregivers.
