A Registrar or Patient Service Representative provides direct assistance to patients at a health care or long term care facility. Answers questions and helps resolve complaints; provides liaison with health care providers; may assist with coordinating appointments or addressing billing or insurance issues.
Valley Eye Associates is looking to hire a diligent, conscientious, and enthusiastic individual for our Patient Services Representative position to assist our patients and doctors. Previous experience a plus, but willing to train the right candidate.
Qualifications Include:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous customer service experience, 2-yr minimum. Previous EPIC experience preferred (willing to train).

Articulate communication skills via phone, in-person, instant messaging, or e-mail. Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including computer, phone, fax, and printer. Convey sincerity, kindness, and a courteous disposition. Strong organizational and problem solving skills. Solution oriented. Ability and willingness to drive to all Valley Eye locations to support department.

Duties Include:
Precisely scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling patient appointments including appropriate documentation. Accurately completing patient registration and check-in - obtaining all necessary, information, forms, and signatures from the patients. Understanding insurance basics to enter coverage information correctly and run insurance benefits for vision plans. Consistently collecting payments based on practice process. Answering telephone calls promptly and in a professional manner. Directing telephone calls to appropriate personnel or collecting necessary information to forward a detailed message to medical staff via clinic EMR. Troubleshooting patient questions and concerns to provide a solution.
