Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Patient Relations Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in providing excellent patient service and administrative support within a medical office environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency in various medical software systems, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and billing practices. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression. Manage multi-line phone systems, handling incoming calls with professionalism and courtesy. Schedule appointments and manage the clinic calendar efficiently. Perform insurance verification and assist with patient intake processes. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide clerical support such as filing, typing, and data entry using Microsoft Office applications. Collaborate with healthcare providers to manage care plans and ensure continuity of patient care. Handle patient inquiries regarding services, appointments, and billing in a clear and informative manner. Requirements Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification processes, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and health information management is helpful. Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) are required. Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are necessary for effective patient interaction. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong organizational skills
