A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Job Description

NICU/PICU
as prescribed by Physicians/NNPs in conjunction with established policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines. She/He is responsible for the assessing the patient's respiratory status and recommending appropriate therapies. She/He implements therapies and evaluates patient response to therapeutic interventions. Providence caregivers are not simply valued- they're invaluable.
Required Qualifications:
National Registered Respiratory Therapist- National Board for Respiratory Care upon hire or, National Certified Respiratory Therapist
- National Board for Respiratory Care upon hire or, National Provider BLS
- American Heart Association upon hire. National Provider ACLS
- American Heart Association within 90 days of hire. 5 years
- Experience in pediatrics respiratory therapy.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's Degree- in Respiratory Care.
