Job Summary This position facilitates and administers respiratory care, including routine and complex procedures, using a wide variety of techniques and equipment. Ensures care meets quality standards established by the hospital, department and regulatory agencies and maintains all skills and knowledge sufficient to provide safe, effective, and developmentally appropriate care to all ages of patients from neonate to adolescent. HAL01 Key Responsibilities Assess and monitor the respiratory status of pediatric patients. Provide respiratory treatments, including nebulizer and aerosol therapies. Administer oxygen using appropriate pediatric delivery devices. Set up, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilators. Manage patients receiving CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy. Perform airway suctioning and assist with airway clearance. Provide tracheostomy care and maintain airway patency. Obtain and evaluate arterial blood gases and other respiratory data. Respond to pediatric respiratory emergencies and assist with resuscitation. Assist physicians with intubation and other airway-management procedures. Monitor ventilator settings and make appropriate adjustments according to orders/protocols.
