This vital role involves providing specialized respiratory care to patients withing our Skilled Nursing setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, comprehensive knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments. The Respiratory Therapist will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care, ensuring optimal respiratory function and safety. Responsibilities Assess patient respiratory status through detailed evaluation of vital signs, oxygen levels, and physical examination. Administer respiratory treatments including aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, and medication administration. Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, patient responses, and vital signs in compliance with hospital protocols. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans for patients with acute or chronic respiratory conditions. Assist in emergency situations requiring airway management or advanced life support techniques such as Basic Life Support (BLS). Educate patients and their families regarding respiratory therapies, medication use, and breathing techniques. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and calibrated according to safety standards. Qualifications Valid licensure as a Respiratory Therapist with current credentials recognized by relevant health authorities. Demonstrated proficiency in airway management, ventilator operation, and advanced respiratory procedures. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, pulmonology, and pharmacology related to respiratory care. Ability to perform patient assessments accurately and respond effectively in acute care situations. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and educating patients. Capable of working in fast-paced environments such as the SNF departments with a focus on patient safety and quality care.
