A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Job Description

Job Summary Respiratory Therapist Registered (RRT) Colorado Springs, CO. This position involves providing specialized respiratory care to pediatric patients in a dynamic hospital environment. The role requires collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes during night shifts.

Job Details Position Title:

Respiratory Therapist Assignment Length:

13 weeks, with a start date of 09/22/2026 and end date of 12/26/2026

Schedule:

12-Hour Nights (6:30 PM 7:00 AM), minimum 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications:

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Cardiopulmonary, minimum 2 years of pediatric experience, NICU experience (Level III or IV) of at least 2 years, emergency department experience (including float/cross-cover), licensed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and minimum 2 years of pediatric/NICU experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS) certification

Additional Information:

No RTO allowed during initial two weeks of the assignment; seasonal influenza vaccine required unless exempted via the appropriate exemption form.

Environment:

Small unit with a broad skill mix from seasoned staff to new grads, including NICU capability for up to 6 ventilated patients.

Collaboration:

Strong multidisciplinary teamwork required, with a focus on pediatric care.

Float:

No float requirement, but client reserves the right to reassign within a 35-mile radius of the original facility for clinical competence and scheduled hours.
