A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Job Description

Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT)
Job Summary:
Seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our team. The RT will be responsible for providing assessment, treatment, and management of patients with cardio-pulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities under medical direction. This role will primarily focus on critical care areas and other wards, with opportunities to assist in new therapist orientation and assume charge responsibilities when needed.
Schedule:
3 12.5-hour shifts will rotate weekends and holidays. Will rotate between day and night shifts will not consider candidates that can t rotate between day and night shifts. Day shift 7am-8pm, night shift 7pm-7:30am Sign on bonus: 10k new grads 15k 1-2 years experience 20k 2+ years experience
Responsibilities:
Evaluate patients daily to assess therapy effectiveness and appropriateness Assume charge responsibilities based on departmental needs Assign workload equitably and prioritize patient care Conduct patient education and training for effective self-therapy post-discharge Document patient information accurately in medical records Demonstrate proficiency in operating and maintaining respiratory therapy equipment Attend continuing education classes and seminars to maintain clinical expertise Complete other tasks assigned by the
Manager of Respiratory & Pulmonary Services Qualifications:
Graduated from an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy Hold a current Connecticut State license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner Registered/Certified by the National Board for Respiratory CareCertification in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program
