A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Meditech Job Requirements- Experience in ICU, ER, critical adult care, and Level 2 NICU/peds within scope required
- Ability to work rotating weekend coverage
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Comfort working with ventilators, BiPAP, and aerosol therapy
- Strong communication skills and commitment to patient-centered care using AIDET
- Ability to adapt in a busy, collaborative acute care environment Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care across inpatient units, including ICU and emergency department settings
- Perform aerosol treatments, BiPAP management, and ventilator management
- Support airway management and advanced procedures within scope of practice
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care team members during daily rounding
- Use new respiratory equipment and bedside technology to help deliver high-quality patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system
- Deliver compassionate, efficient care that supports positive patient outcomes
