Piedmont Healthcare seeks a compassionate Respiratory Therapist to provide specialized care for NICU patients on weekend option (WEO) shifts. In this role, you will perform advanced respiratory assessments, manage neonatal ventilators and oxygen therapy, and support high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitations. You will collaborate closely with neonatologists, nurses, and other specialists to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments on NICU patients and adjust care plans as needed Manage and troubleshoot neonatal ventilators, CPAP, and oxygen therapy equipment Assist with high-risk deliveries and provide neonatal resuscitation per NRP guidelines Monitor and interpret arterial blood gases and other respiratory diagnostics Collaborate with neonatologists, nurses, and other team members on individualized care plans Document all treatments, assessments, and outcomes in the electronic medical record accurately Educate and support families on respiratory treatments and home care considerations Maintain strict infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance standards Participate in ongoing training, competencies, and quality improvement initiatives Work weekend option (WEO) shifts to ensure continuous, high-quality NICU respiratory coverage Required Skills Neonatal mechanical ventilation management NICU respiratory assessment and monitoring Arterial blood gas analysis and interpretation Airway management and suctioning CPAP/High-flow nasal cannula therapy Neonatal resuscitation (NRP) Infection control and patient safety Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Collaboration with multidisciplinary NICU team Patient and family education
