A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Relocation Assistance:
Available for candidates relocating from outside the state of Illinois.
Salary Range:
$1,332 - $1,792.80 per week (base gross), based on a 36-hour (3x12-hour) schedule; equivalent to $37.00 - $49.80 per hour.

Career growth within a large healthcare system The Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II)/Respiratory Therapist (RRT) delivers respiratory therapy treatments and pulmonary diagnostic services in an acute care setting, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of care across all patient populations.
Responsibilities:
Administer respiratory therapy treatments (oxygen, aerosol, airway management) Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems Perform pulmonary diagnostics (ABGs, PFTs) Implement patient-specific respiratory care plans Document care in the EMR Respond to code blue and rapid response events Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes May serve as Lead RCP during assigned shifts
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1.
State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required 2. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current. 3. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required 4. 2 years experience as an RCP preferred. 5. ACLS certificate within 60 day of hire and maintain current. 6. NRP certificate preferred 7. PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current. 8. Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred 9. Resurrection Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that provides employees the flexibility to tailor benefits according to their individual needs. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $37.00 to $49.80 per hour. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
