What they do
A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Position Details:
Mercy South Registered Respiratory Therapist Will consider Certified Respiratory Therapists Full Time - 36 hours/week, Night Shift $20,000 Bonus for RRTs All Part- and Full-Time RTs will train on and be assigned to the NICU on a rotating basis.Overview:
Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care, according to physician's orders. Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy. Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care. Performs duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Education :
Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.Licensure:
Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.Certifications:
Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required.Other:
Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally.Equipment Used :
All appropriate respiratory care devices.Preferred Education :
