What they do
A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Job Description
Hourly Pay Range:
$33.16- $49.74
- The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Days/Evenings Location:
Evanston Hospital- Evanston, IL Per Diem Level I
- Must be able to work 48 hours every 6 weeks.
Hours:
Shift will vary Monday-Friday from 7am-3pm, 7am-7pm, Saturday-Sunday from 7am- 3pm with holiday and weekend requirements.
What you will do:
Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients Provide patient and staff education What you will need:Education :
Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)License/Certifications:
