1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week night shift contract requiring 2+ years of full lifespan critical care experience and EPIC proficiency.

Details Respiratory Therapy Services:

Pulmonary unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center, Level II NICU, teaching hospital with Magnet designation and Primary Stroke Center status Treats patients across the full lifespan from neonates to geriatric respiratory patients 1:1 patient ratios 12-hour night shift schedule with a 6pm start, 36 hours per week Weekend rotation every other weekend No on-call requirements Potential floating to hospitals within the Patient Service Area based on contract terms Uses EPIC charting system Ventilators include PB840, PB980, Servo-U, and Hamilton CPAP/BiPAP equipment includes V60s, ResMed, and RemStar Utilizes Optiflow and Hamilton transport vents Requirements Minimum 2 years of experience with full lifespan patients including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations Active Illinois RT license required if applicable

BLS, ACLS

(AHA), PALS, and NRP certifications required RRT certification required (CRT also accepted) EPIC experience required Experience with trach care, nitrous oxide procedures, and proning techniques required Critical care experience required ECMO experience required Experience with ventilator-associated pneumonia prevention required Experience with spontaneous breathing trials and ABG draws required Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration Additional Information Supervisor support provided on the unit One day of orientation on the unit Holiday coverage based on facility needs Charcoal gray scrubs required Free parking available on site First-time travelers considered upon review Former Advocate Health employees or subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignment Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions Time off requests are not approved directly by the facility
