1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) with 2+ years of full-lifespan experience for a day shift position at a Level 1 Trauma Center and Magnet-designated teaching hospital in Libertyville, IL. Details Pulmonary Respiratory Therapy Services unit at a 273-bed Level 1 Trauma Center, Level II NICU, Magnet-designated primary stroke center and teaching hospital in Libertyville, IL Full lifespan patient population from neonates to geriatric respiratory patients 1:1 patient ratios Ventilators in use include PB840, PB980, Servo-U, and Hamilton; transport vents are Hamilton CPAP/BiPAP equipment includes V60, ResMed, and RemStar; Optiflow also in use Charting system: Epic (experience required) 12-hour day shifts with a 6am start time 36 hours per week standard Every other weekend rotation No on-call or call-back requirements Holiday coverage based on facility needs May float to other hospitals within the Patient Service Area (PSA) Requirements Active RRT or CRT credential required Active IL respiratory therapy license required if applicable Minimum 2 years of experience covering the full patient lifespan (pediatric, adult, and geriatric) Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP (all AHA) PALS and NRP must be in hand at time of consideration Epic EMR experience required Proficiency in tracheostomy care, nitrous oxide procedures, proning techniques, ECMO, spontaneous breathing trials, and ABG draws Experience with ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) prevention Critical care experience required Minimum 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the past year Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration Candidate middle name or initial required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers will be considered on a case-by-case basis Local candidates are accepted Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible Supervised by a unit supervisor Orientation consists of 1 day on the unit Charcoal gray scrubs required Free parking available on site
