A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Location:
Libertyville , IL We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) for a 13-week travel assignment at a leading acute care hospital in Illinois. This is an excellent opportunity for respiratory therapists with strong critical care experience who are comfortable treating patients across all age groups.
Assignment Details Contract Length:
13 Weeks (Aug. 10 - Nov. 7)
Schedule:
36 hours/week
Shift:
12-hour Nights (6:00 PM start)
Weekend Rotation:
Every other weekend
On-Call:
None Floating:
Within the hospital as needed
Holiday Coverage:
As required Minimum Requirements Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience Experience with neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients Active Illinois Respiratory Therapist License Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP (AHA) RRT preferred (CRT accepted) EPIC charting experience required Required Skills Critical care respiratory therapy Mechanical ventilation management Tracheostomy care Nitric oxide therapy Proning techniques Spontaneous Breathing Trials (SBT) Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) draws Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) prevention ECMO experience preferred Facility Highlights Level I Trauma Center Level II NICU Magnet-designated teaching hospital Primary Stroke Center Approximately 273 beds 1:1 patient ratios Free parking provided
