A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Overview RCP CRT Responsibilities
RRT RCP + W
ill provide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily + C onduct tests like pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patients + S et up, monitor , and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independently + M ay be part of a rapid response team in emergencies, which you will provid e airway management, perform intubations, and resuscitat e patients in critical situations + A ssess patients' respiratory status, monitor their progress, and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed + E nsure that all respiratory equipment is properly cleaned , sterilized, and maintained to prevent infections and ensure patient safety Qualifications + Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner ( RCP ) license required + Current Certified Respiratory Therapist ( CRT ) from the National Board of Respiratory Care ( NBRC ) required. Hired before March 2026,are exempt + Basic Life Support ( BLS ) certified from the American Heart Association ( AHA ) or American Red Cross ( ARC ) upon hire and maintain current + Adult Cardiac Life Support ( ACLS ) from the AHA or ARC certification within 60 days of hire and maintain current + Pediatric Advanced Life Support ( PALS ) from the AHA certification within 60 days of hire and maintain current + Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred + High School Diploma or equivalen To view full details and how to apply, please login or create a Job Seeker account
