2 Description American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a PICU position requiring 2-3 years of experience including at least 1 year in PICU or Pediatric CVICU. Details Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Patient population includes pediatric critical care and NICU patients Uses ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, and high frequency jet/oscillator ventilation Performs airway management including intubation assist, extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care Administers Nitric Oxide (iNO) and interprets Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) Epic EMR experience required 3x12 hour shifts, both day (7:00-19:00) and night (19:00-7:00) shifts available 50/50 rotation between day and night shifts based on department needs Every other weekend required 36 hours per week, 3x12 schedule only Requirements RRT credential required, CRT not accepted Pending MA license acceptable BLS certification required PALS certification preferred 2-3 years of respiratory therapy experience Minimum 1 year of experience in PICU or Pediatric CVICU Teaching hospital experience required Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures including bubble CPAP and pressure/volume ventilators License required if applicable 2 verified professional references required from 2 of the last 3 places worked, from different facilities Additional Information Provide respiratory care services to critically ill pediatric patients in a teaching hospital setting Manage mechanical ventilation and perform weaning as needed Troubleshoot high pressure alarms on ventilator equipment First-time travelers will be considered Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a different rate
