Qualifications and Experience:
Active registration as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT credential required) Valid state license as a Respiratory Therapist Proven clinical experience working as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in a hospital or healthcare setting Deep knowledge of current respiratory care modalities, ventilator support, pulmonary function testing, and airway management techniques Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with physicians, nurses, and patient families Ability to assess patient needs and rapidly respond to emergencies or changes in condition Commitment to high standards of patient care and safety
Responsibilities and Duties:
Administer respiratory therapy treatments and procedures as prescribed by attending physicians Perform assessments and monitor patients with acute or chronic respiratory issues Set up, operate, and maintain mechanical ventilators and other respiratory devices safely Conduct diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gases and pulmonary function studies Educate patients and families on respiratory care techniques and equipment use Document all treatments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and collaborate on individualized care plans This contract role offers the chance to work closely with an experienced team, caring for diverse patient populations.
