Job Description

Category Respiratory Therapist Job Type Contract Seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality respiratory care in a dynamic pediatric teaching hospital. This contract opportunity focuses on supporting a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and caring for a diverse patient population, from neonates to adults as needed. You'll work within a resourceful team supported by experienced respiratory leadership.
Schedule/Hours:
12-hour night shifts (7:00 pm - 7:00 am), 36 hours per week Every other weekend rotation No call required Expectation to work 75% of holidays Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
Qualifications:
At least 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist on a resource team Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) Current NC respiratory license BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required Experience with
IPPV/NIPPV
ventilators and patient care within ED, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, and General Med Floors EMR proficiency with EPIC Open to first-time contract travelers Must maintain a permanent residence at least 50 miles from the facility
Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive respiratory care throughout the pediatric and adult units within the facility Administer, monitor, and document therapy in alignment with hospital protocols Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes Utilize specialized technology and department-specific equipment Participate in mandatory orientation and departmental training Comply with department standards, including dress code (royal blue scrubs)
