Annual Job Summary:
We are hiring a full-time OR Nurse in North Carolina to provide perioperative patient care and support surgical procedures; active RN license, BLS, ACLS, and CNOR certification required. The OR Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality perioperative care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. This role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, efficient, and sterile environment while collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare the operating room, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures. Assess, plan, and implement individualized patient care plans throughout the perioperative process. Monitor patient vitals, comfort, and safety during procedures. Serve as circulating nurse or scrub nurse, depending on assignment. Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control protocols. Assist in positioning patients, handling specimens, and maintaining accurate surgical counts. Communicate effectively with the surgical team and support staff to ensure seamless workflow. Provide post-operative care and patient education as needed. Uphold the mission and values by delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Qualifications:
Active RN license in the state of North Carolina (or compact state eligibility). BLS and ACLS certifications required. Minimum 1-2 years of OR nursing experience preferred (new grads with strong interest in surgery will be considered). CNOR certification. Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills. Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced surgical environment.
