Job Description

Category Respiratory - Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Type Travel Deliver essential respiratory care in a dynamic critical illness and rehabilitation environment as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. This contract position offers the chance to work independently, providing high-quality intensive care and supporting patient transport as prescribed.

Qualifications:
Current and valid Respiratory Therapist license (RRT) BLS and ACLS certifications, active and up-to-date Experience utilizing a wide array of ventilatory equipment (invasive and non-invasive) Proficiency with oxygen and aerosol devices, nebulizer treatments, and chest physiotherapy Familiarity with suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal) and pulmonary function testing Ability to evaluate patient needs and develop treatment plans Experience with 12-lead EKGs, arrhythmia recognition, and arterial puncture Strong communication abilities to educate patients and liaise with physicians and healthcare teams Attention to detail in patient documentation and charge accuracy
Responsibilities:
Deliver physician-prescribed respiratory treatments and monitor patient response Conduct oximetry and capnography monitoring; interpret chest x-rays for further evaluation Provide tracheostomy care including emergent and non-emergent tube procedures Assist with bronchoscopies, chest tube placements, pulmonary function studies, and related interventions Set up, operate, and maintain mechanical ventilation equipment Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines Handle laboratory specimen collection, documentation, and result reporting following protocol Ensure thorough education for patients regarding therapies, discharge instructions, and equipment Accurately record treatments, communicate updates during shift changes, and verify respiratory therapy charges Support preventative maintenance and repairs of respiratory equipment This position presents an excellent opportunity to further your expertise in critical and rehabilitative respiratory care.
