A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

The Registered Respiratory Therapist, Shore Care under the supervision of the Shore Care office and assigned Director of Respiratory Services, Technical Supervisor, Shift Supervisors, provides and administers all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment as stated in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual. This job supports multiple locations statewide across the HMH Network and will be expected to float to locations as needed.
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Care program. Associate's degree. Comprehensive knowledge of all clinical aspects of Respiratory Care. Minimum of two (2) years recent experience of respiratory care experience in acute care setting. Minimum of one (1) year travel experience or equivalent required.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
Bachelor's of Science Degree.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
NJ Respiratory Care Practitioner License. NJ Registered Respiratory Therapist Certificate. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
