A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

08/20/2026 Respiratory Therapist Centers Health Care is seeking a compassionate and skilled Respiratory Therapist in the Adirondack Region. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment abilities and experience providing respiratory care in a long-term or post-acute setting. Responsibilities:
Assess and monitor residents with respiratory conditions Perform diagnostic testing and evaluate lung function Interpret results and communicate findings to the care team Provide airway management, including secretion removal and clearing obstructions Educate residents on respiratory health, treatments, and prevention Instruct residents on proper use of respiratory equipment and therapies Respond to respiratory emergencies, including resuscitation support Collaborate with physicians on individualized treatment plans Follow infection control, safety, and clinical care protocols Provide care with respect for residents' dignity and beliefs
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program Current, valid Respiratory Therapist credentials/license Respiratory care experience preferred (LTC/post-acute a plus) Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills Detail-oriented with excellent communication and organization
