A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

•Req Number•193476 Job Description Prepares patients for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO) treatments. Assists clinical staff with patient examination and treatment, documents patient care records. Operates and cleans Hyperbaric Chamber and documents equipment maintenance. Job Responsibility + Prepares patients for hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) treatments and documents treatments in patient care record. + Operates the hyperbaric chamber according to manufacturer guidelines and established regulations. + Takes and records vital signs and/or growth measurements; draws blood; administers EKGs and assists clinical staff with examination and treatment as needed. + Cleans HBO chambers and maintains the orderliness and cleanliness of treatment rooms. + Performs Transcutaneous Oxygen Monitoring; monitors vital signs and patient response during HBO treatments. + Participates in patient education as it relates to hyperbaric therapy. + Participates in quality assurance programs and supports clinical hyperbaric facility accreditation. + Maintains daily and periodic equipment maintenance documentation. + Transports patients to and from the department. + Performs related duties as required. Job Qualification + High School Diploma or equivalent required. + Current Basic Life Support Professional Certification required. + 1-3 years of technical experience, required. + Certified Hyperbaric Specialist (CHS) or Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) preferred. + Previous EMT experience preferred. + CHT required within 12 months of employment. •Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
