Job Summary Woodbury Heights Nursing and Rehab is seeking Respiratory Therapists, to join our growing team. You will play a vital role in delivering exceptional respiratory care to patients in a LTC setting. Your expertise will support patients with respiratory conditions, ensuring optimal oxygenation and ventilation, while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in fast-paced environments, including emergency departments, intensive care units, pediatric units, and outpatient clinics, making a meaningful difference in patient outcomes every day. Duties Assess patients' respiratory status through detailed evaluation of vital signs, lung sounds, and physiological parameters. Administer respiratory therapy treatments such as oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy. Operate and monitor ventilators and other respiratory equipment to support patients with compromised breathing. Manage airway interventions including intubation, extubation, and airway clearance techniques. Conduct patient assessments. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans. Monitor patient responses to treatments, adjusting therapy as needed based on clinical findings and medical orders. Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, patient progress, and vital signs in compliance with hospital protocols. Ensure adherence to infection control standards and safety procedures during all respiratory interventions. Provide education to patients and families about respiratory conditions, medication administration, and breathing exercises. Experience Hands-on experience with airway management techniques including intubation and ventilator management. Prior work in emergency medicine settings demonstrating ability to respond swiftly to acute respiratory crises. Experience operating advanced respiratory equipment like ventilators and suction devices in inpatient and outpatient settings. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to pulmonology and acute care practices. Demonstrated ability to perform patient assessments accurately while monitoring vital signs consistently. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are preferred. Previous hospital or LTC experience within Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable for this role.
