These skills include assessment skills, and the active assessment of respiratory therapies needed and procedures according to the respiratory protocols. What You Will Do Mechanical ventilation Medicated aerosol delivery Airway clearance therapy Patient monitoring Oxygen and humidity therapy Special procedures (CPR, specialty gases, bronchoscopy, transport, etc.) Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Education Associate's Degree in Respiratory (Required) or Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory (Required) Licenses and Certifications Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) (Required) Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (Preferred) Current RCP Ohio License granted by the Ohio Medical Board (Required) AARC membership within 6 months of hire date (Required) NRP Certified (Neonatal facilities) (Required within 6 Months) Work Experience 3+ years RRT experience. (Required) Position Details/Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of RRT experience is required. Previous work in a hospital is preferred. The position, which is for 16 hours per week, is for a day and evening rotation, which can vary between 4, 8, or 12-hour shifts. There will be flexibility in scheduling. Monday-Friday with rotating weekends and holidays is required.
