A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Respiratory Therapist Versailles, OH | Post-Acute Ventilator Unit | $45-$55/hr Full-Time | Nights| Immediate Start | Sign-On Bonus This is a post-acute ventilator unit — not a hospital floor. You'll do focused, meaningful respiratory work every shift. And you'll do it employed by us: a company owned and run by Respiratory Therapists who are invested in your success as well as the facilities. PEL/VIP partners with post-acute facilities to staff and operate dedicated ventilator-weaning units. That means you get the clinical depth of a specialized vent setting — without the chaos of a hospital. No floating. No being pulled in ten directions. Just respiratory care, done right. We've been supporting RTs for over 35 years, and we're expanding our team at a post-acute vent unit in Versailles, Ohio. What You'll Be Doing Managing long-term vent patients through structured weaning protocols in a post-acute setting Performing ABGs, airway management , and thorough documentation in PCC Collaborating closely with nursing and physician teams in a unit built around respiratory outcomes Supporting complex respiratory needs with real clinical autonomy — this isn't task work What We're Looking For Active Ohio RCP license NBRC credential (RRT or CRT) and current BLS (AHA) Associate's degree from an accredited Respiratory Care program 2+ years of recent RT experience ; post-acute or long-term vent experience is a strong plus Confident ventilator management and weaning skills — you know your way around a vent Why RTs Choose Us $45-$55/hr — with the upper end available for experienced RTs and premium weekend shifts You work at the unit — but you're employed by a respiratory company that understands this work from the inside Post-acute means focused care — consistent patients, meaningful progress, and no hospital-floor chaos Full benefits available: medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k) with match, PTO Real paths to advancement — the working manager role is open now if leadership is your next step Versailles is safe, affordable, and genuinely welcoming — easy access to Dayton and Columbus We move quickly once you apply.
