A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Merakey is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services (IDD) division in Coraopolis, PA. Base Pay Standard base rate:
 $29.00 per hour NEW Shift Differentials Monday
  • Thursday | 2:30 PM
  • 7:00 AM+ $4.00 per hour Friday | 2:30 PM
  • 6:00 AM+ $4.00 per hour Saturday 6:30 AM
  • Monday 7:00 AM+ $6.

POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a professional position which involves providing respiratory care to individuals with developmental and physical disabilities and maintaining their medical records to comply with current respiratory therapy practice and state regulation. This position reports to the respiratory manager. Provides clinical assessments to individuals needed per policy. Administer respiratory medications, treatments, and care within their scope of practice and per AVS Policy and Procedure. This includes but is not limited to tracheostomy care, ventilator car, CPAP, BIPAP, etc. This position requires a Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) with a current Pennsylvania License and a genuine interest in working with persons with physical and developmental disabilities. One (1) year current respiratory experience including ventilator care preferred.
