Schedule:
Travel assignment; flexible scheduling to maximize your opportunity to explore the Mechanicsburg area.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality patient care, including intensive respiratory interventions and patient transport, with minimal supervision. Evaluate patients, recommend and carry out treatment plans, and educate patients and families at discharge. Administer physician-prescribed therapies using a range of ventilatory equipment (invasive/non-invasive), oxygen/aerosol devices, and nebulizers. Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, capnography, pulmonary function studies, and routine assessment of chest x-rays. Conduct 12-lead EKGs, basic arrhythmia recognition, and assist in bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care. Carry out arterial punctures, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS/ACLS), endotracheal tube management, and equipment maintenance. Ensure compliance with lab testing protocols, accurate charting, and smooth shift change communications. Participate in equipment setup, maintenance, repair coordination, and other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Active Registered Respiratory Therapist license. Experience in acute and critical care settings strongly preferred. ACLS and BLS certifications required. Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills.
