Role:

Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) Responsibilities include: Assessing patient respiratory needs, developing and implementing treatment plans, performing therapeutic modalities (e.g., aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, artificial airway care), managing ventilators, providing patient and family education, assisting with intra-hospital transport, and supporting emergent airway management. The role involves documenting assessments, ensuring safety standards, collecting arterial blood gases, and aiding in procedures like bronchoscopy and invasive line placement. Collaboration with medical teams and adherence to regulatory and institutional standards are essential.

Qualifications & Skills:

Graduate from specialty training program, with certifications in ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS (training provided). Experience in acute care is preferred; new graduates may participate in a residency program focused on developing critical thinking and clinical skills.
