Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist provides various therapeutic modalities to patients under medical direction. Delivers preventative and/or restorative care to patients with cardiopulmonary needs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Demonstrates competency, individually and as part of the multidisciplinary team, in performing clinical care and assessment of all patient populations. Administers aerosolized agents (IPPB, handnebulizer, M.D.I.). Maintains up-to-date knowledge/skills of respiratory therapy and equipment. Assumes lead in absence of supervisor, assigning shift workload and handling problems. Provides respiratory therapy to adult and neonatal patients in NICU and adult units. Initiates and maintains ventilator support in critical care areas. Provides oxygen therapy as ordered by physician. Completes reports and records detailing respiratory therapy care. Provides patient monitoring services/devices per physician request. Provides resuscitative support to all areas of the hospital. Preserves and protects patient rights to confidentiality.

Performs other job-related duties as required or requested.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapist training program. Must have and maintain current licensure in the State of Rhode Island. Proficiency in the English language required.
