Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients across various settings, including inpatient units, emergency departments, intensive care units, and outpatient clinics. Your expertise will support patient recovery and well-being by managing respiratory conditions, assisting with airway management, and ensuring optimal ventilator function. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology, coupled with experience in critical care environments such as ICU and trauma centers. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patient outcomes through compassionate and precise respiratory therapy. Requirements Required Pediatric ICU or Neonatal ICU minimum 2 years experience, RRT only. Responsibilities Assess patients' respiratory status by evaluating vital signs, oxygen saturation levels, and conducting thorough patient assessments. Administer respiratory therapy treatments including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy. Manage mechanical ventilators for patients requiring ventilatory support in critical care settings such as ICU and PICU. Perform airway management procedures including intubation assistance and suctioning to maintain airway patency. Monitor and document patient responses to treatments, adjusting protocols as necessary based on physiology knowledge and clinical judgment. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for patients with acute or chronic respiratory conditions. Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards related to respiratory care and medication administration. Maintain proficiency in medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and the use of advanced respiratory equipment. Participate in emergency response situations utilizing basic life support (BLS) skills to stabilize patients during crises. Support outpatient clinics by providing respiratory assessments and education for patients managing chronic conditions such as asthma or COPD. Qualifications Certification as a Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from an accredited program. Minimum of two years' experience in hospital medicine, critical care environments such as ICU or trauma centers preferred. Demonstrated expertise in airway management, ventilator operation, and acute care procedures. Knowledge of pulmonology principles, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to respiratory therapy. Experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable. Proficiency in patient assessment techniques including vital signs measurement and oxygen saturation monitoring. Familiarity with pediatric, geriatric, inpatient, outpatient, and clinic-based respiratory care practices. Ability to administer medications safely within hospital protocols while maintaining meticulous documentation. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and educate patients about their respiratory health.
