Shift & Schedule Information We offer a balanced, predictable rotation designed for work-life harmony: 12-
Hour Shifts:
6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Days) or 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Nights).
Standard Rotation:
Typically 7 days on, 7 days off.
Note :
Schedules may be adjusted as needed to ensure adequate clinical shift coverage. 12 hour shifts; day shift position 6:00am to 6:00pm, night shift position 6:00pm to 6:00am. Job Summary The Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for the administration of pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care procedures, following physician orders. You will perform assessments, monitor patient responses, and implement treatment plans to promote effective respiratory care, disease prevention, and rehabilitation. You will work under the direction of the ordering physician/clinician as well as established organizational policies to ensure high-quality patient safety and care. Essential Functions Administers advanced respiratory treatments and monitors patient responses. Orients patients to treatment modalities to facilitate cooperation and successful outcomes. Performs and documents Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) punctures accurately and reports results promptly. Assists physicians with bedside procedures and performs pulmonary testing as assigned. Follows respiratory protocols and ensures adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Communicates effectively with peers, staff, and leadership regarding patient care concerns. Evaluates and maintains respiratory therapy equipment for proper functioning and cleanliness. Implements written or verbal physician orders in compliance with established procedures. Provides clear, legible, and thorough documentation of all treatments and assessments. Ensures proper use of PPE and patient identification for infection control. Manages ventilator settings and airway maintenance for optimal patient safety. Demonstrates skill and judgment in emergency situations and initiates appropriate interventions. Implements age-specific care considerations for oxygen therapy across all populations. Maintains regular and reliable attendance and complies with all hospital policies.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience :
1-3 years of respiratory experience in an acute care setting preferred (New grads welcome).
Licenses & Certifications:
RRT:
Registered Respiratory Therapist (Required).
BCLS:
Basic Life Support (Required within 30 days of hire).
ACLS:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Required).
PALS:
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Required).
NRP & STABLE
Required only if working in the NICU Department.
State Requirements:
Must meet all Texas state-specific licensure requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient in pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic respiratory procedures. Strong communication skills for interacting with healthcare teams and families. Skilled in patient assessment, ventilator management, and airway maintenance. Competent in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. Knowledge of regulatory standards, safety protocols, and infection control. Commitment to continuous professional development.
