A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Job Description

Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT-R) opportunity in Burlington, Vermont. This assignment involves providing inpatient respiratory therapy services in adult ICU, general units for adults and pediatrics, with NICU experience preferred but not required. The position is suited for professionals seeking a flexible schedule and a duration of 13 to 16 weeks.
Job Details:
Schedule:
Days shift with 12 hours per shift and a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications:
Certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Must be a registered respiratory therapist (RRT), not a certified respiratory therapist (CRT). A minimum of 1 year of experience is required. Prior travel experience is preferred. Must have experience working in a teaching hospital. All specialties previously worked must be well documented in each employment entry. Epic electronic medical records experience within the past 2 years is mandatory and non-negotiable.
Preferred Qualifications:
NICU experience is preferred but not essential.
Additional Information:
Assignment duration is for 13-16 weeks. Shift details include working from Monday to Sunday with no block schedules. Bi-weekly orientations will be held on Mondays. All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained. Complete work history details (such as bed count, EMR, facility type) are required for submission. Reliable transportation, personal vehicle, or rental vehicle is strongly recommended as public transportation is not accessible in this area.
