Job Description

Job Summary Welch Community Hospital is seeking a qualified, professional Respiratory Therapist to provide temporary, supplemental staffing on an as-needed basis. In this role, you will be responsible for the direct provision of cardiopulmonary services, delivering critical respiratory care, and administering life support to patients with acute deficiencies or abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system.

Responsibilities Direct Patient Care:

Administer respiratory treatments and clinical therapies precisely as ordered by treating physicians.

Life Support & Management:

Set up and monitor respiratory care and life support systems for patients with severe cardiopulmonary compromise.

Diagnostic Testing:

Perform diagnostic evaluations of the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems to assist physicians in accurately diagnosing heart and lung disorders.

EMR Documentation:

Ensure complete, accurate, and timely logging of all clinical assessments and treatments into the patient's Electronic Medical Records (EMR) in compliance with facility guidelines.

Quality Assurance:

Maintain departmental performance standards and actively participate in ongoing Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities. Work Schedule Work is distributed on an operational need basis. Shifts are subject to change based on departmental demands, though internal hospital staff typically utilize 10-hour and 12-hour shift configurations.

Position Requirements and Qualifications Education:

Must be a graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Respiratory Care (COARC) approved school of Respiratory Therapy with a minimum of an Associate Degree.

Licensure:

Must hold a valid, current Respiratory Therapy license issued by the West Virginia Board of Respiratory Care.

Experience:

Requires at least one (1) year of professional experience working in an acute care hospital setting.

Mandatory Certifications:

Must hold active, up-to-date certifications in: 1. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). 2. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). 3. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Pay:

$37.81 - $40.43 per hour
