Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Make an impact supporting students' communication growth as a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist. This contract opportunity is located near Trussville, AL, providing rewarding work within an educational environment for the 2026/27 school year. Collaborate with students, educators, and families to facilitate meaningful progress in speech, language, and overall educational achievement.
Key Qualifications:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required Valid or eligible SLP licensure for Alabama public schools Previous experience working in school settings preferred Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills Ability to build rapport with students of diverse backgrounds and needs Creative, adaptable, and committed to evidence-based practices
What You'll Do:
Deliver direct and consultative speech and language therapy services for students PreK-12, in accordance with IEP goals Conduct assessments, create reports, and collaborate on eligibility/placement decisions Participate in IEP meetings, serving as a subject matter expert and resource for staff and parents Develop individualized treatment plans and track student progress Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote a supportive learning environment Engage in professional development and stay current on best practices Maintain accurate documentation and legal compliance throughout the service process As a valued Speech-Language Pathologist, you can look forward to working within a supportive educational team dedicated to fostering every student's success.
