) Reporting to the Site Director and under the direction and supervision of the Director of Student Support and Leadership, the Student Support Speech & Language Pathologist will be responsible for assessing and identifying communication disorders and collaborating with learners and families on intervention that is appropriate to the age and learning needs of each individual.WHAT YOU WILL DO
(DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES
) Work with students exhibiting the full range of communication disorders, including those involving language, articulation (speech sound disorders), fluency, voice/resonance, and swallowing. Contribute significantly to the literacy achievement of students with communication disorders, as well as other learners who are at risk for school failure, or those who struggle. Conduct assessments in collaboration with others that help to identify students with communication disorders as well as to inform instruction and intervention. Provide intervention that is appropriate to the age and learning needs of each individual student, including children who are educationally at risk. Configure school wide programs that employ a continuum of service delivery models in the least restrictive environment for students with disabilities, and other students as appropriate. Gather and interpret data with individual students, as well as overall program evaluation. Meet federal and state mandates as well as local policies including Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, report writing, and treatment plan/therapy log development. Collaborate with Facilitators, Student Support, Education Specialist, Counselor, in addition to others to design and implement programs. Engage families in planning, decision making, and program implementation. Actively engage students in goal planning, intervention implementation, monitoring of progress, and self-advocacy appropriate to age and ability level.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Communicating with others to exchange information. (In Person/Telephone/Computer) Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions. When needed to support a school or education program, must have the ability to travel by public transit as well as operate a vehicle for self-transportation purposes between worksites.
