1 Description American Traveler seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist for an Acute Care Hospital setting, requiring SLP certification and BLS with at least 2 years of experience. Details Acute Care Hospital SLP unit Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM 13-week assignment length Epic charting system experience required Trauma Level II experience preferred Requirements Current BLS certification required SLP certification required License required if applicable Minimum 2 years of experience required Epic EMR experience required Skilled in dysphagia management including bedside swallow evaluations, modifying diet orders, and thickening agents Experience with Passy Muir valves, suctioning, and trach/vent patients preferred Experience treating adult patients with CVA, degenerative diseases, dysarthria, dysphagia, fluency disorders, hearing impairments, and TBI Knowledge of signs and symptoms of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse Additional Information Provides assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with cognitive, speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders Builds confidence and cooperation with patients, families, and healthcare providers through effective communication and attentive care Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure patient privacy and safety Assists with clinical supervision of assistants and aides and serves as a clinical instructor for assigned students Responsibilities include billing/documentation, assessment, concurrent therapy documentation and treatment, discharge planning, Medicare A and B compliance, plan of care development, and reassessments Utilizes adaptive equipment and communication boards as needed for patient care Accepts local candidates at the local rate 50-mile radius rule applies for travel rate eligibility Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler Maximum RTO is 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing First-time travelers may be considered for this role
