A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Make a positive difference in the lives of students by supporting their communication growth in a vibrant school environment. This contract opportunity is available for an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) to provide critical services on-site, working with a diverse student population from kindergarten through transition age (5-22). You'll join a collaborative team, filling in while the current SLP is on maternity leave, alongside a dedicated SLPA.

Key Qualifications:

Current California Speech-Language Pathology license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) Experience working with K-12 students; comfort with diverse speech/language needs and IEP documentation Confident in managing a caseload of approximately 45 students Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Availability for full-time, in-person work, Monday through Friday, 7am-3pm

What You'll Do:

Provide in-person assessment, intervention, and progress monitoring for students Collaborate with the SLPA and staff to deliver individualized and group therapy services Document progress and maintain compliance with special education and IEP requirements Participate in IEP meetings and consult with teachers and families as needed Help ensure a positive, inclusive learning environment for students with speech and language needs This position is available immediately and is ongoing, with the flexibility of a 30-day notice to term the assignment.
