Communication Sciences & Disorders Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate school-based Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a School-based Speech Language Pathologist, your main duties will involve evaluating, diagnosing, and providing treatment to students who have difficulties with speech, language, and swallowing. You will work closely with students of ages 3-21 within multiple school site locations. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and contribute to their academic and social development.Job Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, and swallowing disorders
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results
- Provide therapy sessions to improve speech and language skills
- Administer standardized tests and assessments to monitor progress
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for Individualized Education Plans.
- Educate students and their families on communication strategies and techniques
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records
- Stay current with advancements in speech therapy techniques and research
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to speech pathology
- Proficiency in conducting speech therapy sessions and implementing treatment plans
- Knowledge of IEP process
- In-depth understanding of anatomy and physiology related to speech and swallowing
- Experience working in educational setting with pediatrics
- Excellent student assessment skills to accurately diagnose speech disorders
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state license or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
