Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting TK-8th grade students as an onsite Occupational Therapist. This full-time role offers the chance to develop and implement impactful interventions across 2-3 schools near Sunnyvale, CA, enriching the educational journey of approximately 55 students. The assignment follows a 186-day school calendar beginning in August, with weekly hours ranging from 37.5 to 40, allowing for both consistent engagement and work-life balance.
Qualifications and Preferred Background:
Active Occupational Therapist license in California; COTA credentials also considered for school-based roles Prior experience in K-8 or pediatric settings, especially within schools, strongly encouraged Expertise in assessing and addressing fine motor and gross motor skills in children Solid understanding of IEP implementation and documentation requirements Professional, collaborative demeanor and flexible problem-solving approach Ability to travel between 2-3 site locations as scheduled within the district
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct therapy services and consult with staff and families to foster student progress Complete thorough evaluations ensuring compliance with state and district guidelines Contribute to the development and review of IEP goals specific to occupational therapy needs Maintain detailed records and provide reports reflecting student outcomes Mentor and support staff, including training related to motor skills development and classroom adaptations Manage a caseload of roughly 55 students, adjusting strategies to meet diverse developmental levels To be considered, please submit two current letters of recommendation along with a sample OT report (ensure all student identifiers and names are removed).
