Home and Community-Based Early Intervention Services Position Summary The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides assessment, consultation, and intervention services to infants and toddlers (birth to three years of age) who have developmental delays or disabilities affecting communication, speech, language, feeding, and related developmental skills. Services are provided in natural environments, including the child's home and community settings, using a family-centered and coaching-based approach that supports caregiver participation and child development. The SLP collaborates with families, service coordinators, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized intervention strategies that promote communication, social interaction, and overall developmental progress. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university. Current and unrestricted California Speech-Language Pathology License. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred. Experience working with infants, toddlers, and families in an early intervention setting preferred. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Current Department of Justice (DOJ) clearance and successful completion of all required background checks. Valid California driver's license, proof of automobile insurance, and reliable transportation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive speech, language, communication, and feeding assessments to identify developmental delays and areas of need. Develop individualized intervention goals and recommendations based on assessment findings and family priorities. Provide direct speech-language therapy and consultation services in natural environments, including homes, childcare settings, and community locations. Utilize evidence-based practices and family-centered intervention strategies to support developmental outcomes. Coach and educate parents, caregivers, and other team members on techniques that promote communication development during daily routines and activities. Participate in Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) meetings and collaborate with service coordinators and multidisciplinary team members. Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including evaluation reports, progress notes, treatment plans, and required program records. Monitor child progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed to achieve developmental goals. Submit reports and documentation in accordance with Thrive & Grow Inc., Regional Center, and applicable regulatory requirements. Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA, state, federal, and agency regulations. Participate in staff meetings, professional development activities, and ongoing training as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of typical and atypical speech, language, communication, and feeding development in young children. Understanding of family-centered practices and coaching models used in early intervention. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to establish positive relationships with children, families, and community partners. Ability to work effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse populations. Proficiency in electronic documentation and report writing. Physical Requirements Ability to travel throughout assigned service areas. Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and engage in floor-based activities with young children. Ability to lift and carry therapy materials and equipment as needed. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or other languages commonly spoken within the service area). Experience providing services through California Early Start programs or Regional Centers. Training in feeding and swallowing assessment and intervention for infants and toddlers. Experience working within multidisciplinary early intervention teams. Pay:
$60.00 - $90.00 per hour
