We primarily serve young children on Medicaid, in their natural environment of home or childcare. Our interests include poverty, global child development, and care of the parent/caregiver. As healthcare providers, we strive to develop the self-care skills that allow us to remain "fresh" in a service field across a professional lifetime. We have supervised over 20 Clinical Fellows and have provided mentoring to many more CCC-SLPs. About half of our staff is bilingual Spanish. We have worked hard to establish ourselves as a premier Colorado Medicaid setting. We were the first private practice to contract with CHP+ in Colorado. Over the years, we have influenced Colorado Medicaid policy at the state level. We offer weekly, face-to-face mentoring and support during the hire/onboarding process. Many CCC professionals need in-depth support around the birth-to-three population and the home health model, both areas of expertise for us. We serve our families in-home and receive our patient referrals from a combination of sources. Our patients (and you may) live in Larimer, Weld, Boulder, Jefferson, Broomfield, Denver, or Adams counties. We serve geographical areas near our own homes. Our office is in the director's home in Longmont, Colorado, with a garden, apple tree, fountain, and office kitty. We aspire to create a foundation of peace to support us while we help families through sometimes challenging times. Our goal as a group is to offer premier, state-of-the-art services to a population that is finding increasingly limited access to services. We offer merit-based raises, often at annual review. We value new employees for their fresh perspective. Once a quarter we take time off from our patient schedules to come together for mutual support. We read research articles, have lunch, and typically invite a guest speaker. These quarterly inservice days provide the CEUs required for DORA and ASHA maintenance during paid time. All evaluation and therapy materials are purchased by the practice including five types of required professional insurance. We currently have two nurses on staff, two OTs, two office managers, and ten SLPs. As the director, I am touched by our group's willingness to stay up late on email, offering a listening ear and providing input for each other's caseload.
