Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to support 5th and 6th grade students in a dynamic school setting located in Hamden, CT. This full-time, contract position begins ASAP and continues through the end of the school year. The role requires onsite presence and offers a rewarding opportunity to work closely with school-aged children, specializing in speech and language development.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide speech and language therapy services to 5th and 6th grade students Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) Present and manage clinical fellowships (CFs) within the caseload as part of mentorship and supervision Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to school policies and regulations
Qualifications:
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year status (SLP-CFY) Experience in school-based speech-language pathology preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to engage and motivate children from diverse backgrounds Knowledge of applicable school therapy practices and protocols
