A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

ChristianaCare is recruiting for a per diem Speech Language Pathologist to work a minimum of two weekend days per month. Availability to work one to three additional weekday shifts per week and/or weekend shifts as available is highly desired. In this position, you will assess and treat adults with communication and swallowing disorders in inpatient acute and rehabilitation settings. With an emphasis on patient-family centered care, we specialize in a variety of services with a dynamic interdisciplinary/trans-disciplinary team approach.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
Perform comprehensive patient evaluations Develop and implement appropriate treatment programs to include family specific goals and time frames Provide patient and family education and training Education and experience requirements: Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Delaware Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or CF Certification CPR Certification Acute care experience preferred
Rehabilitation Team Offers:
Training/Mentorship Program for skills including but not limited to: tracheostomy/vent, Videofluoroscopy Swallowing Studies, Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing, and Videostroboscopy Studies; Career Ladder for professional advancement; Dynamic team with many having 10+ years with ChristianaCare. This is a flat rate position. Any individual hired into this position will be paid $59.00/hour plus any applicable differentials. This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
